Fuck this is good. It doesn’t hurt that the whole time, I’m just staring at her thinking of how sweet those lips taste. Or about how much I want to kiss those lips again. Fuck, about how much I want to kiss a whole lot more than her mouth. I groan as the music jams on, my cock swelling between my legs.

And we all just keep going, and going, and going—one jam into another. And soon enough, her lyric book is coming out. Me and Anders and Carson glance at each other. We’ve only heard the one track on her demo of her singing, and even if it was obviously good, it wasn’t exactly expertly recorded. Now, we’re about to get the real thing.

She looks up, her face red and her eyes wild, and maybe a little nervous. But when her eyes lock with mine, I just nod.

Sing, I mouth to her. Just sing.

She nods, she glances at her lyrics as she bobs her head to the beat, and then, she opens her mouth.

…And right then is when I fucking fall in love.

The voice of a freaking angel croons out of those sweet lips. A nightingale. A dream. Shit, the three of us almost stop playing completely at the shock of how fucking incredible she sounds. We just stare, and as I look around, I start to shake my head as I realize one little problem. Not a little one, actually. A big fucking problem.

Forget the kisses. Forget all of that. This is bigger.

Because the second Zara Bateman opened her mouth, I just watched all three of us fall in love with her.

Hard.

And I have no idea what comes next.

Zara

By the time the music stops, a hundred years could have gone by, and I’d never know it. Because when the last notes finally start to fade in the silence, it’s like time stops.

And it’s perfection.

I’m panting, my skin tingling like I’ve been struck by lightning, and this buzzing feeling coursing through my veins. It feels like I’m drunk on it all.

“That was…”

I glance around the room and see the same look of amazement on my face mirrored on all of theirs, the three of them grinning right along with me.

“Holy shit,” Carson growls, putting the bass down as he looks at me in awe. “Where the hell did you learn to sing like that?”

I blush, smiling as I look down.

“I dunno. The shower?”

“I’d pay to see that concert.”

I roll my eyes, grinning at Carson’s line.

“That was fucking amazing,” Anders says quietly, and when I turn and see the look of awe and heat in his eyes, I shiver.

“Seriously, Zara, that was like nothing we’ve ever played before.”

“Well, I mean,” I grin. “You had lyrics this time.”

Griffin chuckles deeply.

“It was more than that,” he says, his green eyes flashing. “It just all jelled together in a way we’ve never even come close to feeling before. I mean damn, girl.”

I blush deeper, setting my guitar down as thee power and the rush of it all blazes through me. And the thing is, I don’t think anything they’re saying is a “line” or anything like that. Because I felt the exact same way during all of that. Playing with them felt insanely perfect. Like we were meant to play together. Like each of us was the missing piece to complete a whole.

And it was intense, too. It was visceral, like this physical sensation, this rush.

“Seriously,” Anders growls, stepping towards me., his eyes locked on mine. “Zara, that was incredible. And fuck can you sing.”

I groan, blushing as I wave him off.

“Stoooop,” I giggle, the rush still blazing through me.

“No,” he grins, shaking his head. “No way. You need to own and know how crazy fucking talented you are.”

He moves right into me, and I suddenly gasp as his hands slide around my waist and draw me close.

“And how fucking incredible you are,” he purrs.

And suddenly, he’s kissing me, fiercely and passionately, right there in front of Griffin and Carson. I pause for a second, my eyes opening as I glance past Anders at the two of them. I’m not even sure what I’m looking for—anger? Jealousy? Them being pissed considering I literally just kissed the two of them less than an hour ago?

But I don’t see any of those things in their eyes. I just see heat, and fire, and a wildness that sends a shiver through me. And before I know it, I’m letting go and melting against Anders, kissing him right back.

Slowly, we pull away from each other, and suddenly, I can feel it.

…Everything’s just changed.

Part of it is the music and finding this feeling of perfection with it for the first time. But a big, big part of it is them. It’s the fact that I just found my place in a band, and that I may very well have very, very big feelings for all three of the guys in it.
