“Always am,” he teased with a lick of his lips.

Danforth leaned toward Daniel and started to talk about some business thing they were both invested in. It took Daniel’s eyes from me, which was a relief if I was being honest. I breathed a sigh of relief, then I felt a warm touch wrap over my knee.

I removed Dax’s hand from my leg, whispering to him, “You cannot do that here.”

He leaned close to me and whispered back, “Then where would you like me to do it?”

I was in shock. These two were insane when it came to intimacy. It seemed like nothing held them back. I partly wanted to blame that on the fact that they were spoiled and entitled, but the other part of me was intrigued. How far would they actually go if I didn’t stop them?

The waiter returned with the champagne, and he poured each glass individually as he walked around the table. When he came to my side, he hesitated for a moment. I looked up at him, wondering what was taking so long, only to find his eyes catching sight of both Damien and Dax’s hands on my legs yet again. It was almost like I didn’t even realize it was happening. I lifted my glass to the waiter as I ignored the twins so that hopefully no one else at the table would catch on. Namely, my mother. “As full as you can,” I said to the waiter as I waved my hand in the air. The poor young guy just nodded along and kept on pouring.

After the drinks were poured, my mom and I let the guys order a bunch of food for the table, and I got my chicken like I was wanting. With the twins back to touching my legs, I discreetly shoved their hands away and then drank down half of my drink. As soon as the glass hit the table, I locked eyes with Daniel. There was something in his gaze then, and I just knew he was well aware of what the twins were doing.

Danforth and my mom were opposite Dax, and thankfully they started asking him about his hockey team. All three of the brothers owned a different team in the NHL. Talk about spoiled, rich kids. I scoffed at the stuff they were talking about, and just like that, Damien was in my ear again.

“What’s your favorite part about Hawaii so far?” His slowly moving fingers were walking up my thigh like before. One step at a time, they got closer and closer to my more sensitive areas. I put my hand down to block him.

“I don’t know yet. I haven’t seen much of the island.”

Dax extended his arm over my chair as he continued talking to my mom and Danforth. I could feel his fingers gently caressing my shoulder, all while Damien leaned against me.

“So, Parvati.” Daniel stole my attention instantly with his dark and direct tone. He folded his fingers together on the table and hunched closer to the middle. “Tell me about your work back home.”

“My work?”

“Yes.” He tilted his head as he waited for me to answer. He was so patient that I could have forgotten about everything else if it weren’t for Damien feeling my inner thigh once again. It was enough of a surprise to make me jump and hit my knee on the table.

“Parvati!” My mom scolded me. She tried very hard to keep her voice down, but she garnered the attention of the nearby tables no less. “What has gotten into you?” Me? Why didn’t anyone ask Damien why he was so close to me then? At least he’d removed his hand after I’d made such a scene.

I held my face carefully so I wouldn’t mess up my makeup, then I let all the air out of my lungs. “I am sorry, Mom. I just need some air.” I pushed back my chair, then took hold of the champagne glass and tossed back the other half. Then I headed for the door.

DANIEL

My brothers sure knew how to be dicks. Making a fine woman like Parvati leave dinner early was just ridiculous. And for what reason? A stupid bet neither of them would win.

“Parvati?” I tried to be gentle as I spoke because I could hear her sobbing softly. She’d been embarrassed, and she was still so as she turned away from me and asked me to leave.

“I’ll be in soon. I just need a moment alone.” Her hand lifted quickly to wipe away a tear, then she stammered through a breath.

I wasn’t leaving her to cry alone.

I followed the stone pathway around to the side of the hotel where there was a little courtyard hidden behind tall green bushes. It was very private and beautiful, all decorated in orange flowers and red vines. Parvati sat on a brick bench that was made with a bright cream-colored clay. She looked beautiful and exotic sitting there and her summer dress.
