“So how did this friendship turn into so much more, honey?” Remy’s jewel-like eyes were even brighter as he asked the question that Valenti had been asking himself for the past month.

“Dunno, exactly.” O’Brian paused and seemed to really consider this before continuing. “I guess I just woke up one day and realized I loved him -- really loved him, ya know? And our friendship was so close already, it just seemed to make sense to take it to the next level. I thought to myself, ‘Why am I lookin’ so hard to find all these special qualities in some woman when I’ve already found ’em in my best friend?’ Valenti is the person I love most in the world. He gives me everything I need.”

“Mmhm ...” Paul and Remy both were nodding eagerly for him to continue, but Valenti wanted to shout, “Stop!” at the top of his lungs. It was too painful to have to sit there and listen to O’Brian tell the story that was no story for Valenti. He didn’t want to be in this crazy place with his partner on his lap caressing him, touching him in ways he wanted to be touched so badly and could never hope to ask for under different circumstances. But he was stuck here, with no place to hide, and he had to listen and try to keep a straight face, no pun intended, as O’Brian went on.

“Well, one day I was givin’ him a ride home from work in my car,” his partner continued relentlessly, “and I decided enough was enough already. It was dark by the time we parked outside his place, so I figured no one was likely to see me make my move. He was about to get out of the car, and I said, ‘Valenti.’ He turned around to face me and said, ‘What?’ I said, ‘This.’ I pulled him in and well ... I just kissed him.” O’Brian’s animated face was full of emotions that Valenti would have bet no one would be able to fake -- love, lust, wanting, need. Oh, boy, Sean, you oughta get an Oscar for this one, he thought miserably.

“Ooo, how did he react? Did he take a swing at you?” This was from Remy, who had obviously had some experience with kissing straight men.

“Nah.” O’Brian grinned at Remy and Paul and cupped Valenti’s cheek in one palm, absently caressing his partner’s lips with one gentle thumb. “He was kinda shocked at first, though. His eyes got real wide, and he said, ‘What the hell?’ But then ... then he grabbed me and kissed me back. Soft at first and then harder -- you get the idea.” He grinned and nodded at the two men hanging on his words. Valenti had never known him to put so much thought and detail into a backstory before. It almost sounded like something that had really happened between them. He supposed that was the idea.

“Things got hot and heavy pretty quick, and I finally convinced him to come inside with me. I wanted to be together for the first time in his bed. Wanted to be surrounded by his scent, his touch.” O’Brian went on relentlessly, and Valenti found that he was picturing everything his partner said in perfect detail. “We’d spent the night at each other’s places a thousand times, you understand, but one or the other of us always slept on the couch. But that night we went straight to the bed.

“Things were a little strange at first. Neither Valenti or I had ever done anything like it before -- with another guy, I mean.” O’Brian’s eyes had a faraway look, and his pupils had dilated until the sea green was eaten almost entirely by drowning black. He looked like a man remembering the most erotic experience of his life. “He was on top, and then I was on top -- we didn’t really have any idea exactly what to do. But I knew what I wanted right from the start, and I finally convinced him to let me try it.”

Oh, God, is he really going to go into the gory details here? Valenti thought wildly. His partner shifted on his lap, and now that warm hand had slid down and slipped between two buttons to caress his chest under his shirt, coming dangerously close to a nipple. If O’Brian did much more of that, Valenti knew he wasn’t going to be able to control his body’s responses anymore.

“I unbuttoned his jeans and started pulling them down.” O’Brian continued, much to his partner’s discomfort. “And he was so big and hard, and it was such an enormous turn-on to know he’d gotten that way for me -- from me touching him and kissing him, ya know?” He shifted on Valenti’s lap, and Valenti knew O’Brian had to be able to feel the huge erection he was now sporting pressed against his firm ass. But his partner just continued with the lurid details as though he hadn’t noticed a thing.
