“Scary as hell,” Emily finished as she came out of the bathroom. Her arm came around me and she kissed my check. “I don’t even want to know what that guy does for Deck.”

It was great having Kat and Emily back, especially now that I felt … well, free to be myself. They’d never know about Vault or Connor—that would only put them at risk—but we’d curbed the drinking cover story. Kai wasn’t pleased, but Deck told him too bad.

“I asked him to fuck me in the shower.”

Both Kat and Emily’s mouths dropped open and stared at me as if I had two heads.

“You think he looks scary now … damn, that cupcake made my vagina shrink up and hide. He shoved me against the wall then put his hand around my throat and squeezed.” I had their rapt attention. “I’m thinking he doesn’t like teasing.”

“Shit.”

“Jesus.”

“Deck know?” Emily asked.

I shook my head. “Are you kidding me? Deck threw a punch at Tyler because I …” I winced, thinking about my stupid remark. “This was before we were together and I was pissed at him.”

“Like usual,” Kat said.

I smiled. “So, I said something about Tyler and me fucking.”

Emily gasped. Kat laughed.

“Tyler landed on his ass.”

“Mouse, you coming?” Logan popped his head in from the terrace. He winked at me and I smiled.

“Girl gossip, Logan. You and Ream stole my girls for months. We’re busy comparing dicks.”

“Fuck,” he groaned. Then he slammed the screen door shut and I heard him say, “They’re comparing our fuckin’ dicks in there.”

Tyler and Crisis laughed their asses off and I saw Deck scowling, but when his eyes met mine, he grinned.

He knew me. He knew I spewed bullshit and he loved me anyway. Deck loved me. He always had. I bit my lower lip as I thought of his cock inside me this morning. That was how I woke up: him behind me, pushing inside. It was so hot waking up to him like that.

“Earth to Georgie.” Emily squeezed my shoulders.

“She’s thinking about Deck’s cock,” Kat said. “So, is he controlling in bed?”

“Is Ream?” I knew the answer. Ream was crazy obsessed with Kat, to the point of needing therapy kind of obsessed, but it worked for them.

Kat moaned. “He plays me like a hard rock song and that’s all I’m telling.”

Emily and I laughed.

“Babe. Now. Meat is ready.” Deck was at the screen door now. He raised his brows then walked back to the BBQ where Logan and Ream were pulling the meat off the burner.

I sighed as a wave of heat hit me. I needed a dip in the plunge pool. I didn’t think I’d ever stop wanting or needing him. Shit, I’d wanted him since I was sixteen and that had never faltered despite my best efforts.

Emily walked over and grabbed the carafe of coffee. “I don’t care if he looks less uptight now he’s with you. That guy scares me and I’m not pissing him off.”

Kat got up and grabbed plates. “And Vic looks hungry.”

That got us all moving as we laughed and went outside to join the men. It was Tyler and Crisis who hit it off, probably because they both wouldn’t shut up about themselves: Tyler and his ability to pick up women and Crisis with the way he stroked his guitar. We all knew he wasn’t talking about stroking a guitar.

We ate and laughed, and even Vic managed a half-ass smile—or maybe it was a twitch. “So we finally get to see Deck’s place. Been holding out on us, Deck,” Emily said.

“Yeah, man. Seriously, we could have some serious parties here.” Crisis said.

“We live on a farm,” Kite said. He was playing with his eyebrow piercing as he sat relaxed with his legs out in worn-out jeans and barefoot. He was head to toe tatted up—well, not his face, but he did have one crawling up the back of his neck into his hair. Kite was quiet and sexy as hell. Kind of the mysterious unknown because he rarely spoke and yet it wasn’t because he was shy. Actually, I had the impression Kite was more confident than any of the guys in the band.

“And I own a bar,” Matt added. “Sis, convince Logan to play at Avalanche again. For old times’ sake. He owes me.”

Kat laughed. “Yeah, well, you did punch him in our driveway once for dating Emily. Then attacked Ream in the parking lot of my doctor’s office. Not really a good way to get a band to come to your bar by beating up the band members.”

“Babe, he didn’t beat me up,” Ream protested, grabbing her around the waist and hauling her onto his lap. “If I recall, I kicked his ass.”

Matt scoffed and shoved his plate away then leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms over his broad chest. “You kicked shit all.”
