“I’m sorry. Did you say your name is Mia?” I ask, trying to get her to give me some information about her. My heartrate picks up. My palms start to sweat. What is going on here? I suddenly have an urge to know everything there is to know about her. Boredom slips away as Mia grabs all of my attention.

“Yes. Mia from Remex Collections,” she repeats. I can tell from the small hitch in her voice she’s trying to keep firm still. It’s adorable and I know without seeing her she is probably the sweetest thing on this earth if she has to try this hard to be stern.

“Do you have a last name, sweet Mia?”

She hesitates for a second before replying. “Montgomery. Sir, if you’d please pay at least a small portion of your bill then I wouldn’t have to call you every day. It would make everything easier.” I can hear her clicking the keys on her computer. She doesn’t realize that her words aren’t encouraging me to pay anything. I think I might want to hear her voice every day. Hell, I’d pay to hear it. Definitely not going to pay to make it go away. In fact I think I’ll keep her on the phone for as long as I can.

“Kimmy’s Lingerie, you say?” I pretend to think.

“Yes. It was rather recent. Maybe your wife made the purchase?” she pushes.

“No wife,” I respond, getting that out of the way. Don’t want her thinking that shit. That isn't going to help me in my pursuit to get to know her. The line goes quiet after my revelation.

“Are you saying you didn't make these charges?” she asks. “Fraud?” I could go down that path because it is technically fraud but then I wouldn't have her calling me, would I? Not only that but knowing my sister, she would fight it. Within a week she’d have another claim filed. I’m not sure why she thought I would care about this one. I don’t need credit. The thought is laughable. I’m part of the reason banks even have money to give out loans.

“No, the debt is mine. I just won't be paying it,” I admit. I pull up a search engine on my computer and look up this collection agency. I’m trying to find out any little detail that I can. I want to know if they have an actual office with a physical address or if their employees work from home.

“What? I can’t say that.” Her voice is muffled now and I know she’s talking to someone else. Maybe she’s new at the agency and someone is coaching her.

“Do it. He’s a dick. You deal with a dick by being a bigger dick,” I hear someone tell her in the background. Whoever is giving my angel advice is right. “You need this collection,” the other woman says, encouraging her. Her words have me sitting up a little straighter and placing my elbows on my desk. She needs this?

“Listen here, you thief. Don’t be a jerk and pay your bill.” She pauses for a moment. “Like that?” she whispers. I have to fight a laugh. Even though she called me a jerk, her voice is still as sweet as could be. Jesus, this woman is adorable. I wonder how that sweet mouth will taste against mine. Is all of her sweet? I feel my cock get hard at that thought. I adjust myself and continue to listen to my sweetness.

“I mean maybe don’t call him names.”

“Oh.” This time she forgets to muffle her voice. I put my hand over my mouth to keep from laughing. I click away at the collection agency’s website but can’t find much.

“Mia, are you there?” I want to draw her attention back to me. Not liking the fact that it’s elsewhere. I suddenly have the urge to have all of her attention.

“Yeah. I’m-” I cut her off because the last thing I want for her to be is sorry.

“Give me your number and I’ll pay the bill in full.”

“In full!” she half shouts. I have to pull the phone away from my ear. “Are you rich or something?”

“I spent a million dollars on lingerie. I’m either rich or crazy.”

“Sounds like both,” I hear the other woman whisper.

“I can’t give you my number.”

“Why?” I click a few more times on this useless website. There’s no pictures or any extensions. It only has a main number which I’m sure goes to a call center.

“You buying a million dollars in lingerie is suspicious. That’s got all kinds of red flags all over it.”

“Fair enough,” I agree. It does sound creepy if you think about it. I’ll have to thank my sister for that one. Who would need that much lingerie? Then again, I am willing to pay a million dollars because I like the sound of my angel on the other end of this line. She seems to need the debt paid off more than I need to prove a point. I’m sure she earns some sort of commission on it. If I pay it, though, then I won’t be getting her calls anymore. Unless I rack up a few more debts that I don’t pay. Easy enough. A few pokes at my sister and I should be golden. I've outdone myself this time. My plan is genius.
