As she twisted her hips to the beat, twerking her ass against me, I realized how this night was going to end.

With her beneath me, screaming my name.

And I was right. Thirty minutes later, that was exactly what she was doing.

Hayley

I rolled over in bed with a yawn, groaning quietly as I slowly opened my eyes, finding Damien’s side of the bed empty. I looked over at my bathroom door when I heard the shower turn off, and Damien stepped out a moment later, a towel wrapped around his waist. Water glistened on his chest and ran in rivulets down his abs, disappearing into his towel.

“Morning, darlin’,” he spoke as he landed his eyes on me.

“It’s too early,” I grumbled as I pulled my pillow over my head.

Damien quietly laughed as he began to get dressed. “You’re coming back home today, Hayley,” he informed me, making me move the pillow so I could look back at him through squinted eyes. “Mark followed us up here, which is why Miles and I had blood on us yesterday. He’s in a coma in the hospital, and the doctor doesn’t think he’ll be waking up. So, you can finally come home.”

I slowly sat up and reached up to rub my eyes with a yawn. I slowly slid out of bed, padding naked to the bathroom so I could get a shower. “What time are you planning on leaving?” I asked him.

“As soon as I talk to Walker,” Damien informed me. “So, go ahead and get your shower and pack your things.” With that, he strode out of the room.

Once I got my shower, I got dressed in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt and slid my feet into a pair of flip-flops. I was almost done packing my bag when Miles stepped into my room. “Hey, Damien asked me to come put your things in the car. He’s waiting for you in Walker’s office,” he informed me.

I nodded. “I’m almost finished. Give me a couple of minutes,” I said as I grabbed the last couple of things out of my drawer and put them into my bag.

I was on my way down the hall to Walker’s office when someone yanked me into a bedroom, shoving their hand over my mouth before I could shout at them to fucking let go of me. I glared up into the eyes of Carney. “You think I was going to let you go home without making you pay for making me look like a fucking fool last night in front of my men?” he snarled at me. “Think again, pretty girl.”

His vice president, Allen, stepped out of the shadows of the room with a bandana in his hand. Before I could make any noise, he had it in my mouth, tying it behind my head despite the fight that I was putting up.

“I saw the way you were dancing all over Parrish last night, sweet thing,” Allen breathed in my ear, making me cringe away from him as far as I could with him holding my wrists behind my back.

I kicked my foot out at Carney, catching him in the knee as he moved closer to me. He cursed, rage flaring in his eyes. I shoved myself backwards, slamming Allen into the door behind me, creating a loud bang.

“The fuck is going on in there?!” Walker hollered from the other side of the door.

Allen roughly slung me against the wall, his hand wrapping around my throat. The door opened, and Walker walked in, his vice president, Lucas, right behind him. Allen let me go as a bullet ripped through his arm, making him roar in pain.

I collapsed to the floor, coughing and wheezing as I reached behind my head, trying to undo the knot in the bandana. Damien walked into the room, rage flooding his features when he found me on the floor. He quickly knelt in front of me. “I’m here, darlin’,” he murmured as he reached behind my head and undid the knot.

He pressed his lips to my forehead once I was free and then stood up, kicking Allen so hard in the chest that he sprawled backward on the floor, roaring in pain. Damien yanked his gun out of his belt and sent a clean shot through his head. I resisted the urge to throw up.

This was the Damien everyone knew and remembered—the cold-blooded killer, the one who murdered anyone that dared to fuck with his woman.

He pointed his gun at Carney next. “I knew there was a reason I never fucking liked you from the very first moment I fucking met you all of those years ago,” Damien snarled. “You know what the fuck happens to people who fuck with Hayley.”

“Think about this, Damien,” Walker spoke up, trying to defuse the situation. I knew nothing would stop Damien though. Once you fucked with me, you signed your own death certificate. “Trust me, I want to do the same, but if you kill Carney, you’ll not only be in charge of your own crew, but you’ll be in charge of the club, too. Is that what you really want?” Walker asked him.
