Hayley sighed in aggravation but nodded her head at Linda nonetheless. I gently gripped her chin and turned her head to face me again. “Hey, baby girl, if you don’t want to serve drinks, then don’t,” I told her.

She shook her head. “Trust me, they’re going to need my help. The Montana crew is full of assholes, and the women here are too fucking sensitive for their shit.”

I clenched my jaw, but kept my mouth shut. I was trying to be better, trying to let her make her own decisions.

But if I caught one of those mother fuckers talking to my woman the wrong way, they would quickly realize the kind of monster I could become over my woman.

Miles’s eyes met mine, and I knew without him saying a word that he would drop bodies as well if anyone disrespected Hayley. He had always had a soft spot for her, and I knew he would fuck up someone over her. He had before while I was in prison.

Even when Hayley had left me, he had kept tabs on her, and he had made sure no one fucking bothered her.

Until Drake had stepped into her life again.

The clubhouse doors opened, and Hayley pressed a light kiss to my lips before she sauntered behind the bar. “Carney, good to see you, man!” Walker exclaimed as he got up from his seat at one of the tables and clapped the president of his Montana charter on the back as they hugged. “Glad you could make it in.”

“Wouldn’t miss this shit for the world, Walker; you know that.” He looked over at the bar, and I saw his eyes land on Hayley. He licked his lips. “Hey, girly, grab me a beer,” he called out to her.

Hayley grabbed a beer out of the fridge and popped the top off, sliding it across the bar to him as he stepped up to it. She began mixing a Jack and Coke for one of the other guys, not paying Carney any attention. And he hadn’t noticed my presence yet, which didn’t say much about him being a president other than he sucked at taking note of his surroundings.

Most men were wary of me.

“Bitch, this drink is fucking shit,” one of Carney’s men snapped at one of the girls as he roughly slid his glass across the counter, sending it crashing at the girl’s feet. She jumped backward with a small shriek.

“Hey, fucking watch yourself,” Hayley snapped at him, her eyes spouting fire at the asshole.

“Watch how you talk to my men, girly,” Carney warned her.

She turned her fiery gaze to him. “Or what?” she snapped. Fuck, I was getting hard watching her. “I’m not fucking afraid of you, old man, so fuck off.”

Pride swelled in my chest for my woman, but it was quickly replaced by rage when Carney reached across the bar for her. I quickly stood up and grabbed his arm tightly, making him turn his attention to me. “Touch her, and you won’t ever touch any other woman with this fucking hand again,” I snarled quietly.

His face paled. “Oh, fuck, man, sorry. I forgot to mention that Damien Parrish is here, and this is his woman, Hayley,” Walker stated as he rushed over, knowing I wouldn’t hesitate to make a mother fucker handicapped over my woman.

“I thought your ass was rotting away in a prison cell still,” Carney commented once he regained his bearings. I released his arm.

“Got out early.” I smirked slightly, knowing it was actually a lot more complicated than that. “Good behavior and all that shit.”

Carney snorted. “Good behavior, my fucking ass. How many men did you murder and threaten before you finally got what you wanted?”

I just smirked. “Nah, just good behavior,” I told him. How I got out so early was really none of his business. Quinn was an FBI agent, and whereas I was good with that as were the rest of my men, I knew most others on the wrong side of the law wouldn’t take too kindly to it. Quinn had used his influence to get me out.

“Your woman looks a hell of a lot different,” Carney commented, his eyes drawn back over to Hayley.

“I’m going to make you blind in a fucking second,” I warned. Miles barked out a laugh behind me. I may be a changed man for Hayley, but I was still territorial and possessive.

He put his hands up beside his head in a defensive gesture. Miles snickered. Hayley leaned over the bar, drawing my attention to her. “You need a new beer?” she asked me.

“Yeah, and while you’re at it, bring your cute little ass over here so these fucking men will stop staring at your ass and curves in those leggings and that non-existent shirt,” I told her.

She grinned at me and walked over to the fridge, purposefully swaying her hips to the beat of the music pounding through the clubhouse. When she came around the bar, I took the beer from her hand and handed it to Miles as I stood up and dragged her out to the makeshift dance floor, pulling her against me.
