She shuddered at the thought.

“You’d really trust someone you don’t know not to tell anyone who you are or where we live?” Brody asked.

“Well, it’s not like she’d be able to tell anyone. She’d be stuck here. Forever.”

She sat up, staring down at him. “Daddy, you can’t kidnap someone and hold them against their will.”

“Course I can. It’s really quite easy when you know how.”

“No, I mean, morally you can’t do that, Daddy.”

“Morals,” he spat out. “I don’t bother with those.”

She sighed. Silly Daddy.

“And you’d be fine with a stranger touching Tutu? Discipling her?” Brody asked. “You’d trust this stranger?”

“I’d trust no one with he two of you,” he said vehemently. “Well, except for my sweet girl, but she’s as submissive as the two of you. Fine. Point made. No nanny. Now, the two of you need to get to sleep before my spanking hand starts tingling.”

He didn’t have to tell her twice. She slammed down on top of him, wondering why he let out a pained groan.

“Is your back sore, Daddy? Or is it your spanking hand? Maybe you shouldn’t exert it?”

“It’s not his back or his spanking hand,” Brody said. “Although she is right when she says you shouldn’t exert it, Papa.”

“My spanking hand is just fine,” the Fox said in a strained voice. “My balls might never be the same again. They’re also not little.”

“Oh no, why not, Daddy? I love your little ballsy balls. Can I kiss them better?” she asked.

“No!” he said quickly. “No, baby girl. They’re fine.”

Disappointment filled her, but she yawned and put her pacifier back in her mouth. Seemed weird that he was getting a pain in his balls. Maybe he should have them looked at.

She could offer her services tomorrow.

“Did you find the guy, Papa?” Brody asked.

Oh shoot. She’d forgotten the reason that he’d left them.

“No, it was a false lead. But don’t worry, I’ll get the bastard.”

Fox, Brody, and Autumn

“I don’t know what all the fuss is about. If they annoy me, then I’ll just kill them. Simple. Problem solved.”

Turning his head away from the corner he was supposed to be facing, Brody glanced over at the Fox who stood in the middle of the playroom, a frown on his face.

“Well, uh, killing them probably isn’t going to make the best first impression, Daddy,” Tutu pointed out from her corner.

“And I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t hurt them, Papa,” Brody added, pushing his glasses up his nose. “Like, really, really.”

Really, really? Had he just said that?

“I wouldn’t kill them straight away,” the Fox explained. “They’d have to annoy me first. I’m not a monster.”

“But, Daddy, you can’t kill everyone who annoys you,” Tutu pointed out.

The Fox folded his arms across his chest, looking mildly curious. “Make your case.”

Tutu cleared her throat, turning to face the Fox properly.

“Did I say to move?” he asked smoothly.

“But I can’t make my case while facing the corner, Daddy. Besides, I don’t think you’re gonna punish us anymore.”

Brody was tempted to smack his hand against his forehead. What was she thinking, reminding the Fox that he was supposed to be punishing them?

They were facing two separate corners of the playroom. Brody had his gray sweatpants off, his bare ass on display.

Tutu had her tights and tutu down around her ankles and if she didn’t stay still she was likely to trip up over them.

She could stumble over air most days. She’d looked so adorable in the tutu that the Fox had bought for her in honor of her nickname. It was pale pink with images of bunnies stitched into it.

Her T-shirt had Property of The Fox written along the front.

Subtle the Fox was not. At least not when it came to the two of them and how much he loved them.

Freddy Fox was sitting off to the side, watching everything.

“I’ll allow you to turn to make your case,” the Fox agreed. “However, I doubt you will sway my mind. I’m usually always right. I’m magnificent like that.”

He also wasn’t subtle when it came to his feelings about himself. He was happy to tell everyone how amazing he was.

But he wasn’t lying. He was amazing. Maybe Brody saw him through rose-colored glasses. A therapist would probably tell him he had Stockholm syndrome or some other syndrome for falling in love with an assassin.

But he hadn’t fallen in love with an assassin. He’d fallen in love with a man. A man who might have some quirks, and still might struggle with empathy and emotion.

However, Brody knew he was loved. Autumn was loved. That the Fox would kill for them. Would protect them with everything he had.

Sometimes, it still surprised him that the two of them had chosen to be with him. But he knew better than to voice that thought out loud.

“You can turn as well, Pup, since apparently, you’re on Bunny’s side.”
