The dark-haired woman with the sad eyes who first sat down today seems to be… glitching. Her green stare is unfocused, turned inward to align this new possibility she wasn’t able to conjure up herself.

Her voice is flat when she says, “But he doesn’t want to participate. He just wants to watch. He didn’t say anything about joining in.” She blinks once, but her eyes still hold that faraway look. “Wouldn’t that… wouldn’t that be a threesome? I don’t…” She shakes her head. “Then I’d have to worry about satisfying two men? But I already failed at satisfying one.”

“Savvy.” Roman’s deep voice using her submissive name seems to snap her out of it and her attention to him. “First and foremost, you have never failed me. Never. There has not been a single moment in time since the second we met that you have left me unsatisfied. Even if you make this a hard limit, I will still be fulfilled with only you. Second, you don’t have to worry about anyone else’s pleasure but your own and your Dom’s. And I am your one and only Dom. Same as always. That never changes. You would not be there to perform for another man. I don’t give a single fuck if he leaves satisfied or not. He’s there to perform for you. He’s there to bring you pleasure; that’s his only purpose. Even if he can’t make you come, there are still ways he could fulfill his one duty. And three, yes, I just want to watch, but that doesn’t mean I won’t give you what you need. It doesn’t mean I won’t touch you when you want me to, before the act, during, and after. I just want to watch you while you enjoy receiving pleasure. I want to spoil you with this indulgence, and I want to take in every second of it, because seeing you experiencing that joy would in turn bring me joy. It’s like… the opposite of jealousy. I don’t even know how to describe it.”

“Compersion,” I insert, and both of them glance at me. “The word you’re looking for is compersion. It’s defined as the sympathetic joy we feel for somebody else, even when their positive experience doesn’t involve or benefit us directly.” When Savannah’s expression doesn’t change, I dive deeper. “That feeling you get when your husband or a friend receives some type of reward or accomplishes something they’ve been working at for a long time, that wholehearted happiness that fills you, even though it doesn’t have anything to do with you.” At her nod, I finish with, “Roman feels that plus sexually aroused when he pictures you receiving erotic pleasure.”

Her brows furrowed, her head whips around to face her husband once again, and they look deep into one another’s eyes for a long moment. When her face finally softens, he lifts his hand to trace a fingertip down the bridge of her nose, tapping the end of it gently before leaning in to kiss her forehead. I see her eyes close tight, but this time, it doesn’t seem to be from the pain she felt earlier.

Once they settle back into the couch, I glance at my notes for the reminder I wrote. “I have some homework for you to complete before our next session. I want you to sit down together and do a little research on this particular kink. I have some websites I’ll email to you, but also just explore what the internet has to offer. Savannah, you do not have to make any type of decision right now. You have all the time you yourself need to come to your conclusion. The best course of action for everyone right now is to learn all you can about cuckolding; that way you can make an informed decision. There are some very open people who have blogs or write articles about their own experiences, good and bad, and reading those will stimulate questions you wouldn’t have known to ask yourself. I want you each—meaning individually—to make a list of questions you still have after your research. Make notes on things that interest you or confuse you. Jot down things you come across that you know for a fact you do not want to do, no matter if it’s during a cuckold or any other type of scene.”

Savannah lets out a long sigh that seems to relax the majority of the tension she entered with. And the pinched look around her mouth and eyes is a little less pronounced. She no longer looks like she’s terrified of confronting this bump in her marriage’s road—not quite eager to get home to jump into the homework like her husband clearly is, but much more open to it.

The last of my notes for today are scribbled quickly so I don’t keep them waiting to leave.
