She sucked in a breath. “Do you really mean that? It’s not because you got in trouble, is it? I mean, I don’t want you to be forced into this. I want to be in this club, but not if it makes someone miserable. And this old lady thing. I know what it means. I’ve been here long enough for that. I just… I would never expect you to… You know.” She shook her head, obviously uncomfortable with whatever she was trying to say. “You don’t have to be with me. If you don’t want to be.” Her voice was quiet, unsure. She’d dropped her head and was cuddling her puppy again.

“I don’t understand what you mean, baby. If I didn’t want this, taking you as my woman and putting you under my protection, giving you the full protection of my club, I wouldn’t do it. I’m gonna make you mine, Blossom. Then we’ll deal with that bastard, Winston.”

“What I mean is, we don’t have to have a relationship. You know. If you don’t want to.”

I thought about that for a moment, trying to puzzle out what she meant. “Wait a minute. You mean sex? We don’t have to have a sexual relationship?”

Bless her heart, Blossom turned bright red. “How can you just come out and say it?” She buried her face in the puppy’s neck, letting the small hellion lick her. The little beast’s tail started wagging happily. If the puppy was more comfortable, that meant Blossom had to be feeling more comfortable. Even if she was a little embarrassed.

The laughter bubbled up out of me, unable to be contained. “Well, I just opened my mouth and it popped out.” I caught her chin with my thumb and finger, tilting her face up to me. “Unless you object, I intend sex to be a very big part of our relationship. We’ll work on the rest of it from there.”

“But what about other women? Will you still need to… you know.”

I felt my expression harden. “Absolutely not. And you won’t be having other men either. Putting property ink on a woman is a serious thing for us. We’re faithful. Both of us.”

“I-I didn’t mean I wanted anyone else. I just wasn’t sure how you felt about it.”

“It’s me and you, Blossom. We work this out together. We respect each other. We learn about each other. We make a home together with the club as our huge extended family.”

I thought she might balk, or express reservations, but she didn’t. Instead, Blossom graced me with the most beautiful smile I’d ever seen. “That sounds just about like I imagined heaven would be.”

“Christ, baby. You’re killing me.” There was no way to not kiss her. If I didn’t, I knew I’d die right where I sat. It was a compulsion I had no hope of ignoring, and I didn’t even want to try. Cupping her cheek, I brushed my thumb over her bottom lip. Then I leaned in and took her mouth.

She sighed against me, letting me have her. I tried to keep the kiss light and sweet. I didn’t want to scare her, and I certainly didn’t want to take more than she was willing to give.

I needn’t have worried. Blossom turned into my touch. The puppy in her lap gave a startled yelp but settled easily enough. Blossom didn’t seem to notice because she moaned and threaded her fingers through the hair at the back of my neck and clung to me, opening her mouth eagerly. God, she tasted sweet! Her little tongue brushed against mine with a tentative stroke, and I grunted my approval.

“That’s it, baby.”

“Walker…” Her sigh went straight to my dick. I wanted this. Wanted her. I wasn’t sure I’d felt anything this strong for another human being since I’d left Rebecca to go overseas. Hell, had I even felt this much for her? And I’d wanted to marry Rebecca. What I felt for Blossom was… raw. Intense. It had been unwelcomed at first, but every time she gave me that look of longing when she thought I wasn’t looking had gutted me, then wedged deep inside me where I couldn’t get her out. Had anyone in my life ever looked at me like Blossom did? Like I could make everything better?

Yeah. That was an easy question to answer. No. I’d never had anyone want me the way this girl wanted me. Given the way she was kissing me now, I knew her desire for me wasn’t because she needed protection. There was a hunger inside her. One directed straight at me. I’d been around long enough to know when a woman was giving me her body in exchange for something. This girl definitely wanted something from me, but that wasn’t all. She was giving herself to me because she needed me as much or more than she needed my protection.
