“I think that’s the rest of it. Now all you have to do is turn the switch on.” She holds the tree topper in her hand. Said it was the last decoration you’re supposed to put up. “You’re tall, but I think you’ll still need a step ladder.” She glances around, looking for the one I’d gotten out for her a while ago.

“We don’t need it.” I grip her hips, spinning her to face the tree, and lift her up so she can place it on herself.

“Oh my God.” She laughs but leans over, putting the star on top before I bring her back down to her feet. “Here you go.” She tries to hand me the little remote.

“Not happening, gorgeous. That’s all you.”

“Really?” She peeks over her shoulder, looking up at me. “I’ve never gotten to light the tree before.”

“All you.” I give her ass a small slap. She clicks the button, and the star comes to light.

“We did it!” She turns, jumping up into my arms. I catch her easily. She presses her mouth to mine. Her excitement is damn contagious. My balls might be aching, but I don’t think I’ve ever smiled this much in my life.

“Do you not have a tree at home?”

“I didn’t really decorate this year. I’ve been saving my money to fix up my place. I only got it about nine months ago.” I already knew she hadn’t owned the place long. I could also tell it needed some work.

“Your dad always lit the tree growing up?” I dig a little in hopes that she’ll share the information with me. I’ve been getting small pieces of her life all day. There is only so much you can get through digging online.

I know she comes from a big family. She’s planted right in the middle, with three older and three younger siblings. I get a sense she gets lost in the shuffle. How, I have no fucking clue. Marley lights up a room. Anyone that doesn’t notice her must be blind. She’s had all my attention since she came into my life.

“My dad lights it. Lately he’s been letting my oldest brother do it.” She shrugs it off.

“I think the women of the house should light the tree. Call me sexist but without you I’d have no Christmas. I’d be a bit lost.”

“You got all the stuff.”

“It was still in the boxes as of yesterday. Sure, anyone with money can go out and buy shit. But for it to be special, someone has to put the love into it.”

“Love.” A sweet smile pulls at her lips. “I want to put some love into you.” She licks her lips before her eyes go wide. “I mean like dirty sexy stuff,” she quickly adds, her face turning redder by the second. I’m still stuck on her previous words about her loving me. “Last night you did stuff to me but I didn’t get to like… you know.” She shoves her face into my neck, getting too flustered to go on. God, I love her so damn much.

“You can do anything you want to me, gorgeous. Nothing to be shy about. Love me or return the favor. Promise I’ll love all of it.”

“Really.” She tentatively lifts her head. Her cheeks are still pink. “I want to do what you did.” She licks her lips again. I close my eyes for a second, willing my knees not to give out. The thought of her with her lips around my cock is almost too much to bear. I remind myself that I’ve still got her in my arms. “Or not if you don’t want me to.”

“I’m just trying to think straight, gorgeous. All the blood has rushed to the wrong head,” I say, opening my eyes back up. Her nose scrunches like she’s confused for a second before she bursts into a fit of giggles.

“Are you really that turned on?”

“I’ve been hard since you showed up here.” It’s been a lot longer than that, but no need to get into that now.

“Really?” Her voice perks up.

“You really have no fucking clue how damn sexy you are.” I carry her over to the couch, sitting down with her in my lap.

“I mean, I’ve been called cute for sure but never sexy. My sister Carla is the sexy one.”

“No, you’re sexy. I promise you that.”

“Wait till you see Carla.”

“I’ve seen her.”

“Oh, when?”

“On your social media and then at the post office,” I admit. “I might have checked your page out.” I give her that much. She doesn’t have to know how deeply I checked into her social media accounts.

“You didn’t think she was—”

“No, gorgeous, I didn’t. She is plain, if you ask me.” I don't mention the fact that she hit on me.

“Did she hit on you?” Her eyes narrow. Well, shit.
