I have a feeling based on Asher’s facial expression that I’m in so much trouble.

Asher

I’ve never felt more out of control in my life. Something inside of me broke free the second I saw that little prick closing in on her. He had her caged against a wall in a back hallway. I’d heard her tell him to stop. But he hadn’t.

When I tore out of Chase’s place, I thought I might have been overreacting. We pulled up to the front of the house, not caring who we blocked in. We had no plans to stay. I’d seen my sister’s car parked a few blocks back.

Chase spotted my sister in seconds, but I didn’t see Molly anywhere. Emily told me she’d gone to the bathroom. There had been no missing the slur in her words. Chase grabbed her shit and said he’d take her back in her car so I could go find Molly.

It didn't take me long. I didn’t care how insane it was, but I knew the second I stepped in the house where to go to find her. Before I could even think about it, I had the little shit off her with my hand wrapped around his throat. He’s lucky that I was worried Molly might take off, scared after she had seen how out of control I’d been. I wanted to turn my hand. It wouldn’t have taken much to snap his neck.

“I told you to stay home.”

“It’s not my home, remember. We’re just gold-diggers trying to steal it.” She lifts her chin in defiance. It’s adorable.

Dipshit is still on the floor, coughing away. He pushes up on all fours, and I put my foot on his side and shove, making him fall back down.

“You’re really pushing it, little mouse.” I wrap my hand around her wrist and pull her along with me.

“You’re the one pushing it, buddy!” she sasses back. I glance down at her as we exit the dimly lit hallway, giving me a better look at her face. Her cheeks are flushed and her eyes glossy.

“How many drinks did you have?”

She glances up, her eyes squinting behind her glasses as she tries to think back. “Too many.”

I start walking again.

“You’re not the boss of me, you know,” she keeps going. People jump out of our way. I’m sure many of them recognize me. I hear a few mutters of my name as I pass, my hold never letting go of Molly. I don’t care who sees.

“Wrong. I am the boss of you.”

“Am not. I’m the boss.”

“What are you the boss of, sweetness?” I stop walking, and she almost runs into me.

“Sweetness?” Her nose scrunches like she’s thinking again.

“Sweet as honey.” Her pretty doe eyes widen.

“You’re a perv.” Her round cheeks turn a deeper shade of red.

“I blame you.” It’s a bullshit excuse. I should be in control of myself, but I’m not. With her, something is different. I don’t know what it is, but at the moment, I don’t give a shit.

“Me!?” she squeaks. I’m pissed she’s drunk and got herself in a fucked-up spot, but damn am I loving her mouth right now. She’s talking to me more than she ever has. I don’t care if it’s us going back and forth in a fight. I’ll take it. “Get in.” I open the passenger side door.

“You can’t park here. You’re blocking all these cars.” I pick her up and put her in the seat. “Hey!” I pull her seat belt over her and click it in place. I pause, my face so close to hers. She licks her lips, her tongue grazing my mouth.

“Yeah, I blame you,” I say before I kiss her hard. I hold my mouth to hers for a long moment. Some of that rage I’ve been feeling melts away. I pull back. “You’re in enough trouble. If I were you, I'd watch it.”

“Watch what?” She glances all around, actually trying to find something. I fight a laugh as I shut the door. I suck in a deep breath, running my hand across my mouth.

“Is that Asher Score?” I hear someone say. I need to get out of here.

“Was he kissing Molly?” another girl asks. Part of me wants whoever these girls are to spread that shit around so that everyone knows she belongs to me. But we’re not there yet. We will be soon enough. It’s inevitable, but tomorrow is my father’s birthday. It will have to wait.

When I get into the car, I check my phone to make sure Chase has my sister. If Molly was drinking, it’s a good bet Emily was too. Chase was right. I thought Emily would be more responsible, but clearly, I was wrong.

Molly taps away at the screen, trying to figure the music out. At least that’s what I’m guessing she’s trying to do.
