His lips pressed against her temple. “Your Daddy.”

As he rose from the rocking chair, cradling her in his arms, she tipped her head back to look at him. She didn’t want him to put her to bed in her crib tonight. She wanted to remain snuggled in his arms. “Can I sleep with you in your bed tonight, Daddy?”

He smiled at her before bopping her nose. For a moment she thought he would tell her that Little girls needed to sleep in their own cribs, but he surprised her. “I’d like that, Rainbow. I’d like that a lot.”

She knew her grin stretched from ear to ear.

“But…” he added, making her heart rate pick up, “you’ll have to get to bed on an earlier schedule on the nights you sleep with Daddy.” He gave her a mischievous grin that made her squirm in his arms.

“Why, Daddy?” she asked, blinking innocently.

He chuckled as he turned to head for the hallway. “Keep squirming like that and you’ll find out exactly why, my little Rainbow.”

Ellie giggled all the way to his room, but she didn’t stop squirming. No way.

Here’s a sneak peak at the next book in the Little Cakes Series: Lemon Chiffon.

“Hey, Dungeon Master. I’ve got a new whiskey for you to sample,” Riley called across the social gathering area of Blaze.

“I don’t drink while I’m on duty,” he answered curtly. She knew that was the rule.

“At least come sniff this. You’ll want to come back after your shift is over.” She coaxed him to approach.

“Sniff it?” Bear shook his head as he walked her way. Had Riley been drinking too much? That wasn’t like her at all. As he approached, she waved him around the bar.

“Careful. Don’t look down,” Riley whispered to him from the corner of her mouth as she held the bottle toward his nose.

“Check this out,” she announced louder for the crowd gathered around the bar.

Instantly, Bear’s warning radar sounded. Something wasn’t right here. As he dipped his head to sniff, Bear saw a huddled figure pressed as small as possible against the wooden barrier.

“Teddy?” A small sound whispered from the back of the bar. “Can you get me out of here? I’m scared.”

Daisy! The nickname the Littles didn’t think he knew about clued him in as to how frightened she had to be. He dropped a hand down to stroke over her silky hair to reassure her. Bear didn’t stop to question why she was hiding. The Little had a good reason.

“That smells amazing, Riley. I’ll look forward to sampling it soon.”

Bear walked to the supply cabinet and grabbed a folded black tablecloth. Nonchalantly walking back to the bar, he searched for a way to create a distraction. A flash of movement captured his attention as Blaze’s resident shibari expert appeared. Milo’s rope demonstrations were extremely popular.

“Hey, Knot Master! When’s the next performance? Weren’t you looking for volunteers?” Bear sacrificed the experienced member to the eager crowd. He’d apologize later.

As everyone swarmed to speak to Milo, Bear wrapped the tablecloth around Daisy and carried her into the office unseen. Sitting down in the large chair, he freed the small figure from the material. The sight of her tear-stained face thrust a stake through his heart. Instantly, he was ready to pounce on whoever had hurt her.

“Teddy!” Daisy threw herself against his chest and wrapped her arms around his neck, holding on tightly. “I knew you’d help me!”
