After hanging up, I stroll across the room and peek into the bathroom. My legs freeze as I take in Victor’s broad shoulders, trim waist, and glorious ass. He’s leaning against the marble counter, naked. A jagged, muscular back ramps up the heat in my body, and he has an appearance about him as if he has been patiently waiting.

“Oh, you want a reward, huh?” I cock an eyebrow. “You are a very powerful, thorough man. I can’t thank you enough for taking over my floral shop.”

“Luxury, your choices are infinite, except for leaving me.” Victor seals that commandment with a kiss on my forehead. The heat from his lips sends tiny goose pimples igniting across my flesh. My eyes flutter closed. In this moment, I don’t need to hear those three-letter words.

I feel them.

Flowing over me like a summer current.

Brimming through my soul.

There’s no lust in his eyes.

Just a man who looks at a woman as if he’s unafraid to love her. Call me crazy, that I’m deluding myself, but that’s what I choose to see. He put in excessive effort. Love gives voice to actions, not measly ass words.

His hand hauls over the back of my neck, and he leans down, lips crashing into mine. Victor uses my moans to slip his tongue into my mouth, claiming me as his. He sucks in my frenzied gasp as if he'd swallow my soul if he could.

He devours me, and there’s not a thing I can do to stop him.

Not a thing I would do to stop him. Pleasure leaks in as the kiss deepens, and his hands slide down, skimming beneath the slender strap of my silk night slip.

“I’m undressed, and you’re not, Little One. We can’t have that.”

There's no hesitation as his fingers snatch the material from my burning hot flesh, no leisurely seduction. This is him taking ownership of what belonged to him at first sight.

He ruthlessly pinches my nipple, and I throw my head back, breaking the kiss. Reaching down with his free hand, he grabs my ass, hauling me up against his hard body as he spins and slams us into the door now behind me. Still in a thong, my legs lift, thighs guided around his waist.

“Vic, ouchhh.” I gasp as his teeth sink into the side of my neck.

“Where are your manners, Little One.” His hard body traps me against the bathroom door, and while my spine screams in agony and my pussy cries a similar tune, Victor runs his lips over the pain he inflicted on my throat.

“Thank you,” I murmur.

“That’s not enough, Lux.” Victor’s desire presses against my stomach, and my hips roll, welcoming his massive length. His heat rubs over my lace panties, taunting my swollen, wet lips. Victor reaches between us, tearing my panties off. My heart slams against my ribs as his admiring gaze falls over me.

He lifts my arms over my head. The chilly wooden door attempts to cool my aching body as Victor’s blue eyes take on a feral glint. He lines himself up with my convulsing channel, and in one fell swoop, my spine hits the door again.

Bam.

Bam.

Bam.

“Oh fuck!” I cum instantly, nails biting into his biceps. My mouth sucks at the muscles of his shoulder as if attempting to gain a purchase on my sanity. Possession and danger shine in his eyes. I scream my appreciation, begging for mercy as the feeling of fullness tips me over the edge again and again.

Later in the evening, Victor whisks me out of the house, saying he’d shared too much of me with Alba, his brother, and a bloody wedding over the past few weeks. I joke that Alba hates the color red, so there will be no blood-red roses as we enter the clichéd classic restaurant with white linen-draped tables and flickering tea candles. As Victor greets a few people, I take a seat at the bar across the dining room. After ordering tea, I turn around to see if Victor has finished chatting. There are so many people wanting to talk to him. Every eye follows his commanding presence, except for one.

A man stands apart from the rest of the patrons in a dark hooded jacket and jeans. There are leather gloves on his hands. Sunglasses cover the only bit of his face that is visible. I find the man unnerving, but my attention is diverted when someone takes a seat at the bar rather close to me.

“Good evening, Luxury.” Seductive green eyes spark in my direction.

“Oh, Lake, was it?” I offer a pleasant smile as a greeting before taking a sip of my drink.

“Did you try the spicy curry?”

“Actually, I did.” I probably would’ve gotten alcohol poisoning if I hadn’t. Alba and I had enjoyed bowls before I finished Momma’s diary. “Good suggestion. Now, I’m sure you know that I am taken.”
