And I was blushing again.

“Come on.” His hand stroked over my head, squeezing my neck and sending sparks of floaty feelings through me. “Hmm, you like that.”

It wasn’t really a question, but I found myself nodding. “Yes…I…”

He tightened his hold just enough to make happy submissive feelings shower through me. “That’s right. There’s nothing to worry about.”

I wasn’t sure I should agree with him, but I found myself bobbing my head again. “I…”

I was going to have to find where my brains had wandered off to if I was going to drive, but I decided I’d worry about that once I had to walk on my own…which was sadly sooner than I wanted because the waiter came back over.

Daddy released me as he and Cohen both tried to pay the bill, finally agreeing that Daddy would pay this time since it’d been his idea. There was a spark of something in Cohen’s eyes that said he was going to get Daddy back, though.

I couldn’t resist laughing quietly as he gave me a quick wink when Daddy wasn’t looking.

Daddy was appropriately suspicious, studying both of us as the waiter walked off with his card. “What are you two getting up to?”

Daddy was so smart.

“Nothing.” I shrugged and gave him my best wide innocent eyes.

I’d have gotten away with it, but Cohen started to laugh again. He was definitely going to be our weak link, so I knew I’d have to watch him in the future.

Daddy snorted, shaking his head and trying to look serious as his eyes twinkled. “You two are going to be trouble.”

My who me expression didn’t fool Daddy, but Cohen’s laughter was harder to ignore. “Are you encouraging him to be naughty?”

Based on the sexy pleased with himself smirk, Cohen’s answer was yes, but he touched his chest and raised one eyebrow. “Me?”

Daddy just snorted, which seemed to please Cohen for some reason.

It was cute and all very…normal, maybe?

Some of what was going through my head must’ve shown on my face because Cohen’s teasing fell away as he smiled softly at me. “What are you thinking, cutie?”

The sweet endearment didn’t help my ability to answer him, but by the time the waiter had dropped off Daddy’s card, I’d found my voice and my ability to answer without sounding stupid. “I was thinking that you both seem very normal with all this. I know that’s probably not the right word, but I—”

As I rambled, worried I’d offended them, Cohen reached out and took my hand again. “Slow down. It’s not a bad way to look at it. This is unique for most people.”

He had a point.

Even most of the guys at Leashes & Lace didn’t have a Dom and a something else.

“But unique isn’t bad.” My attempt to smooth things over made him smile even wider.

“That’s right.” As Cohen stroked his fingers over my hand, he nodded. “It simply means we talk things out and do our best to be as honest and as open as possible.”

Honest…open…talking…

Well, I was an honest person and my face kept giving away what I was thinking, so that had to count as being open…two out of three wasn’t bad.

Right?

Chapter 3

Bishop

Ian was green…but he was also quiet and nervous…and the car ride over to Cohen’s house wasn’t helping any.

He’d even asked me to drive.

Yep, his brain was going a thousand miles an hour, but nothing seemed to be negative, making it harder to know how to help him…or even if he needed help.

I told myself I should be patient, but that only lasted until the next stoplight. “You’re very quiet, cutie.”

When he blushed, a completely unexpected reaction, I reached over and took his hand. “Okay, why did that make you blush?”

What had I said?

Where had his brain jumped to?

He took a moment, nibbling on his lower lip before sighing and being wonderfully dramatic, but I knew Cohen would’ve just waited me out, so that was what I did with my boy. It paid off after only a few more deep breaths, so I knew I’d picked right.

“Um, Cohen called me that too.” He peeked over at me. “Is that…is that okay?”

Nodding, I didn’t have to think about my reaction, but I did try to think about the right way to talk to him. “Yes. I thought it was sweet, and I loved watching you squirm.”

That got an even deeper blush from him, but the way his body eased back against the seat said his brain was finally slowing down. “He did too, right? I mean, he’s never looked at me like that before and…”

He shrugged as his voice trailed off, but I was starting to get the picture. “Because he’s been very deliberately avoiding getting close to anyone at L and L. He knew exactly who you were when I said I wanted to date you. He wasn’t scrambling to match a face with a name. But you’re right, without…let’s call it a push, he would’ve ignored it.”
