We made love again after we soaked in the tub this morning. He fed me afterward, and I crashed as soon as my head hit the pillow. The next time I woke up, it was to him getting dressed and looking too damn good in a suit. He might not like some of my dresses for showing so much, but I’m not a fan of how damn good he looks in a suit either. I mean, I would be if I was the only one who ever got to see him in one, but that’s not the case.

“Yes, I need to go back to the hotel.” I turn my head to look out the window. He pulled the curtains back this morning because I wanted to watch the snow fall. It’s still coming down but not as hard.

“The roads are going to be bad.”

“I’ll be fine. I promise.” He kisses me. I nip at his bottom lip, making him groan. “Angel.” He pulls back. “You need time to rest.”

“I soaked for an hour and took the pills.” I huff, trying not to pout, but I know I’m failing.

“You’re a greedy little thing.”

“I guess so when it comes to you.” I drop my hand from his chest. He grabs it and puts it back.

“Don’t do that. I want you to be needy every second of the day when it comes to me. Turns me the fuck on that you are.” He moves my hand down to his cock. I palm his erection through his slacks.

“Promise?” I admitted to him this morning that I worry I might be too clingy. He’d laughed and told me to give it my best shot.

“Promise, and you know I’m always a man of my word.”

“Okay, but promise you’ll be careful too.”

“Promise.” He kisses me again. “If you want, you can hide away in the room, but my mom might come knocking.”

“No, I told her I would bake with her today.” He smiles at that.

“Save me something. I want to eat something you made me.”

“I’ll save you something special.” I smirk.

“You’re being a naughty girl.”

“You’ve made me this way.” I lick my lips.

“I’ll be quick.” He kisses me again. “I’m leaving you a phone here. It’s yours. I put my number in it. Call or text me for anything. I don’t care what it is. If you need me, I’m here. Got it, angel?” I blink back tears.

“Thank you. You don’t know what those words mean to me.”

“Wrong, love. I do know. Be a good girl while I’m gone.” I nod. He gives me another kiss before he finally leaves the room. I lie in bed staring at the door, wishing I’d told him that I love him before he left.

I know it might be crazy, but that’s how I feel. He’s hard not to love. In my whole life, no one has ever made me feel the way he does. I know I’m safe with him. That is priceless.

I grab his pillow, burying my face in it. I’m not sure if I drift off or not, but I jerk, sitting up when a knock sounds at the door.

“Aspen, you awake sweetheart?” The door starts to open slowly.

“I’m awake.” Sophia steps in.

“Did you want to help me bake?”

“Yes, I’ll get dressed.”

“Please do. We have a lot of people coming and going, and Hunter is rather possessive when it comes to you. Should have seen the list he left me on you.”

“He left a list?” I throw my legs over the side of the bed.

“He really is so much like his father.” She smiles as she says it.

“I wish I could have met him.”

“Get dressed and come down, and I’ll tell you all about him. I’ll meet you down there.”

“Deal.” I get up to go in search of clothes. I’m surprised when I see the closet is filled with them. Marco must have gone and gotten some of our stuff, but all of these things aren’t mine. There are still tags on almost everything.

Wanting to be comfy, I grab some black pants and a sweater, pairing it with some boots. I snag the phone Hunter left me off the table. I smile when I see I already have a text from him. He put himself into my phone under the name husband. That brings an immediate smile to my face. I find myself doing that a lot since Hunter found me sleeping in his bed.

Husband: Miss you.

Me: Miss you more.

I slip the phone into my back pocket before I go in search of the stairs. I hadn’t been paying much attention last night when Hunter brought me up to bed. My focus had been on him and what was about to happen between us. I hadn’t been scared or worried about my first time. I knew he would make it perfect, and he did.
