“Phew, you had me sweating there!” He gave an exaggerated sigh of relief, making me giggle.

We spent the next hour calling our families to tell them about the pregnancy—my mom screamed almost as loudly as Jordan’s. When the phone rang after I hung up with my brother, I assumed it was one of our moms again because they were so excited about the pregnancy. I was surprised to hear Stephanie instead. “Remember when I told you to let me worry about your career?”

“Of course, I do. That was just this morning.”

“Well, neither of us needs to worry about you losing the lingerie contract. I hope you don’t mind that I told Sheila at Every Woman about your pregnancy. She’ll keep the news under wraps until you’re ready to share it within the industry. But I had heard that they’re getting ready to launch a maternity line and didn’t want to get your hopes up until I had the chance to speak with her. She wants you for the face of their launch campaign.”

I squealed with joy. Every Woman was a much bigger company than Adore Her, and being the face for a new line with them would be a huge boon to my modeling career. Although I’d gotten pregnant quickly, the timing had turned out to be extra lucky.

“Which football player wears the biggest cleats?” Wrenley chirped.

I stifled my laughter as I stood just inside the sliding door out to our patio where my wife was having a girls’ night.

“The one with the biggest feet!” Marleigh exclaimed.

Raucous laughter broke out for a few minutes, then I heard Wrenley speak up.

“You know what they say about men with big feet…”

And that was my cue. “Are you talking about me, baby?” I asked with a smirk as I strolled outside and over to her chair.

We’d bought a house out on Long Island, not too far from Prentice and Naomi, shortly after we found out she was pregnant and moved in as quickly as possible. We even had our wedding out on the beach behind it.

The back of the house had a big, grassy yard with a large patio and a gated inground pool. We’d put in a firepit, and Wrenley loved to have people over for s’mores. I’d also added huge heaters so she could enjoy it almost year-round.

I bent over her chaise and kissed her lips, licking up a speck of chocolate before standing straight. “Mmm, delicious,” I hummed just loud enough for her to hear and grinned when she shivered.

Ember tossed a graham cracker at me and groaned. “You boys and your big egos.”

I laughed and scooped my wife into my arms before taking her seat and settling her on my lap. “We’re professional football players. Everything we have is big.”

Wrenley giggled and pretended to pout. “Well, thanks to you, everything I have right now is big, too.”

Not the least bit sorry about that, I grinned as I rubbed her swollen belly. “More to love, baby,” I crooned.

“It’s not fair that anyone can be so freaking beautiful at eight months pregnant,” Naomi grumbled before chomping on a s’more.

“You looked gorgeous when you were pregnant, baby,” Prentice said to his wife as he walked out onto the patio, followed by Nixon, Clay, and the other guys who were here to collect their wives.

“You have to say that since you already knocked me up again. I’m about to blow up like an elephant!”

Prentice chuckled and dropped down to take the empty chaise next to her. “Like you didn’t beg me to put my boy in there.” he teased.

“For fuck’s sake!” Nixon shouted, covering his ears. “That’s my sister!”

Ember would probably have fallen over in a fit of giggles if she hadn’t been in much the same physical state as my wife. Nixon frowned and picked her up. “You’re going to put yourself into labor,” he growled. “I knew I should have kept you locked in the bedroom.”

“But then Naomi would have been sad,” Ember pointed out before shoving the rest of her snack in her mouth.

“Which would have pissed off your quarterback,” Naomi added.

“And you have a game on Monday,” Marleigh piped up.

“And you don’t want to be a judge,” Wrenley said in a cheeky tone.

Everyone else was silent long enough for it to be awkward, and I finally sighed and took the bullet. “When does a football player feel like a judge, baby?”

“When he sits on the bench!” she crowed.

If I hadn’t known for a fact that most of the women present were pregnant or breastfeeding, I might have thought they were all hammered by the way they lost it at Wrenley’s joke.

She was truly adorable and sexy as fuck at the same time. I was the luckiest son of a bitch on the planet to be her man.

I told her as much later on, after everyone was gone, and I was removing her clothing one piece at a time.
