“I live for you. At first, I was afraid, but then I realized that you were the best thing to ever happen to me. Bonus, I have a crazy sister-in-law who is a lot of fun.”

“Yeah, I still owe her an ass kicking for nearly getting you killed and having you run off with Morozov so he could be your hero.”

“He’s not my hero—you are. He just did the dirty work for you.”

“Well, from now on, I’ll take care of it all.”

“Yes, Mr. Barone.” I pop her on that juicy ass and then take her luscious lips. The bed dips as I roll on top of her, pinning her down and starting another round of lovemaking.

Best vacation ever, or so I thought.

The next evening with the added security, we enter the Mexican cantina when Patricia gasps. I stop her in her tracks, grasping her biceps and tipping her chin. “What is it, Amore?”

“I swear…it’s nothing. No, it just…”

“What is it?” I don’t like that she’s being evasive. “Come on, if it’s important, I need to know.”

“I thought I saw my old chef, Manuel.” That fucking piece of shit better not be here.

“Where?” My head’s on a swivel, looking behind me for any sign of the old creep.

“He ducked behind the kitchen.”

I messaged my father and the others that we may have a problem. “Stay put.” I tell them to surround the back while I enter through the kitchen.

We can’t find him, and something tells me this is just what he wanted. So, I rush back inside to Patricia, and he’s sitting at the table with my wife, but it’s not a friendly conversation. She’s pale and shaking. “Get the fuck away from her.”

“No, I don’t think so. Mi muñeca is coming with me.”

“No, she isn’t. There is no way I’ll let you take my wife out of here.”

“She’s going to be mine soon. I spent so long trying to make her mine, only for you to ruin it. Damn it, I even got that stupid Russian to help her, and then you snatch her up before I can steal her back. She’s mine.”

“I’ll go with him, Gio. It’s okay. No one has to get hurt.” I see the look in her eyes, and I understand the game she’s playing, so I step back and pull out my blade. She stands quickly, bumping the table, sending the flimsy thing into Manuel and knocking the gun out of his hand. I’m on him in a heartbeat. I don’t kill him, but my men arrive and drag him off to be dealt with later.

My mouth lands on my wife’s, and I kiss her until she pushes away for air. “I was so scared.”

“Thank you for saving me,” she says, sobbing against my lips.

I chuckled like a demented fuck, caressing her arms and staring into her lovely eyes. “You practically saved yourself.”

“You’ve been hanging with Vivian a lot, and here I thought she’d be a bad influence.”

“Well, at least not in every way.” She smiles, and we toss a large tip on the table before walking out. I have a problem to handle.

As soon as we’re in the back of the vehicle, I have to address the matter. She’s known this man since she was a small girl. What happens now might hurt our relationship, but I must do this. There will be no other way because he’s twisted.

We drove back to our resort and the entire ride my wife had her eyes on me. “You can ask whatever it is you wish, my love.”

I steal a glance her way; my thumb making circles around her wrist. “Have they killed him?”

“Not yet.”

“Are you going to kill him?”

I won’t ever lie to her. “Yes.” She dips her head and it breaks my heart that she’s going to suffer, but he’s a fucking monster who had sick intentions for her.

“I’m sorry, Patricia.” My wife turns her head and stares at me. She’s about to speak and then we pull up to the resort, so I park, exit the vehicle, then help her out. Taking her hands, I add, “He shouldn’t have gotten close to you.”

“I’m sorry. For as long as I can remember he’s been on my side until that day in the kitchen and then he betrayed me. That truth just sucks.”

“I’ll make him pay for hurting you, baby.”

“Don’t make it too painful. As upset as I am, he made my shitty life better.”

“I’ll make it fast then. Let me get you inside and protected.” She nods and once she’s protected by several guards who I could trust with my life including my Elio, I leave to handle business with the perverted chef.

The lovely boat we’re on should be for my bride and I, but tonight it’s to serve a different purpose.

“Loosen the gag,” I tell my father as soon as I enter the lower deck. He stands there with a smirk because there is no one I trust more than my dad to help clean up the trouble.
