Thankfully, I never shut the sliding glass door to my bedroom after the tour I gave Kelsey and walk easily into my room. I set her on my bed, and she falls gently with a plop and stares at me with lust-filled eyes. I step back and take her in, with her smoldering gaze, red pouty lips, and devilish grin.

“I have something to say before we cross this line. I’m not the player type that you read about, Kels. I don’t fuck around on the woman I’m dating or frequent bars when I’m on road trips. That’s not the type of man I am.”

“Thank you for telling me.” She leans back onto my bed, her dark hair splaying out along my comforter. Kelsey tilts her head toward me and then her fingers go to the button on her jeans. She’s watching me watch her. I’ve never been so turned on in my life.

Kelsey shimmies out of her pants and pushes them off her ankles. I know I should’ve helped her, but I’m stock still in awe of her right now. First times are usually a clumsy mess of two people trying to get each other’s clothes off, but not with her. She knows what she wants and has no qualms about showing me.

I push my joggers down and bend to take them off. I could’ve easily kicked them off but I’m afraid I’m going to stumble and fall flat on my ass. When I stand tall, she’s seeing me in all my glory for the first time. My hand goes to my dick. I stroke myself, watching as she licks her lips.

“Come here,” she says as she scoots to the middle of my bed. I want to do as she says but divert to my nightstand to grab a condom. I show it to her, and she nods. And then, I crawl to her, right between her legs.

Hovering over her, I kiss her with as much passion as I can muster and steady myself on one hand, while the other explores her body.

“I want to feel you,” she says against my lips.

“Foreplay,” I say in return.

She takes my hand and puts it on her sex. “No, now. Foreplay later. I want to feel you, Alex.”

Those words are my undoing. I sit up and sheath my erection before lining myself up. I hesitate for a moment before entering. If she notices, she doesn’t say anything, and I plan to make her forget.

There are things I should be doing. Warming up would be smart, but I’m anxious to see Kelsey. I dropped her off at her house before I had to report to the team hotel for the mandatory stay before our home game. Kelsey didn’t understand why we had to do this until I explained the gamut of things that could go wrong on game day, and then it made sense to her. Still, leaving her after having her, was the hardest thing I’ve had to do in a long time.

All morning, I’ve been on edge, wondering if I planned Kelsey’s first game perfectly. I made sure she had two tickets, and gear for her friend, and asked Myles to meet her out front to bring her into the stadium. So far, so good.

Of course, all my confidence might be from the high I’m still feeling from the other night. Remarkable is an understatement. We were perfect together.

Kelsey’s walking toward me wearing jeans and the jersey I picked up for her. I have no shame, my name’s on the back, and after our night together, I’m ecstatic knowing it’s there. Her friend Basha is with her, along with Myles.

They’re standing near the wall. Far enough out of reach, but still close that I can see her and hear what they’re talking about. Well mostly. I pick up bits and pieces over the loud chatter of my teammates and laugh when I hear “men,” “tight pants,” and “bending over.” We make eye contact. She smiles and gives me a knowing look. Similar to the one she gave me last night when I had her bent over the side of my couch.

Memories of last night flood my mind. Kelsey. Me. Heads fallen back, sweat beading down our torsos. Names said over and over as we gave ourselves to one another.

Great, now I’m hard again.

Myles finally lets me have my girlfriend . . . the word gives me pause. Does Kelsey want the label? Fuck, I want it, and I think it’s evident to anyone paying attention. She’s down on the field, wearing my jersey, and I’m tempted to kiss her in front of everyone.

Except, I don’t. With so many cameras around us, I treat her like I treat any other fan who comes onto the field—at arm’s length. No one needs to know we are anything more. They’ll speculate and post things about us dating. The media can spin and stew for a bit. At least until the fundraiser. Then, everyone will see the beauty on my arm.
