I chuckled, pulled a box out of the inside pocket of my suit jacket, and handed it to her.

“You bought me a cell phone?” she asked once she finished chewing.

I shook my head. “I bought us a burner phone.”

Her eyes brightened with the kind of mischief that I loved so much. “And who will we be using this burner phone on?”

I shrugged. “I was thinking we’d start out easy…”

“Wes and Kline?”

I smirked. “Exactly.”

“Oh, fluff yes!” she cheered, fist-pumping the phone into the air. “You’re the best husband ever!”

“Yes. Yes, I am,” I agreed and winked at her.

“And do you already have a plan in mind or…?”

I shook my head. “Oh no, honey. I’m letting you take the reins on this one. You decide our plan of attack.”

She laughed like an evil villain getting ready to destroy the world.

“I take it you already have a great idea?”

Cass nodded. “Wes Lancaster is the first prank victim on our list.”

“And the prank?”

“Quinn Bailey has a secret baby momma, and she reaches out to his team’s owner to try to track him down.”

Quinn Bailey was the quarterback for the New York Mavericks—aka Wes Lancaster’s team. Her plan was fucking diabolical and might quite possibly drive my best friend temporarily insane.

I loved everything about it.

“That’s pure fucking evil, baby.”

“I know, right? Absolutely brilliant.”

“Shall we finish our dinner first and then get straight to the good stuff?”

“Like I’d let this food get cold? Pfft.” She rolled her eyes, set down the burner phone, and picked up her fork. “Food first, then freaking your buddy Wes the fluff out next.”

I laughed but did as my crazy wife requested.

But I’d only managed a few bites of linguine before she turned back to me and placed a gentle hand to my wrist.

I met her eyes, and she leaned forward to press a surprising kiss to my lips.

“What was that for?”

“Because I love you,” she said. “And I love that you always try to make sure you back up your words with actions.”

I furrowed my brow, and she sighed, rolled her eyes, but also, smiled.

“I know you brought the burner phone home because you want me to know you meant what you said in Florida,” she explained. “Even with a baby, we can still be our wild and crazy selves.”

I grinned and nodded. “And we will be. That’s who we are, Cass.”

“Always and forever?”

“Always and fluffing forever.”

“I love you, Thatcher. I really would Thatch that forever.”

I nodded. “I love you too, Crazy.” I leaned forward to kiss her lips. “Now, eat your food so we can prank the fluff out of Wes, and then you can fulfill your blow job promise to the Supercock.”

She winked at that. “You got it, Daddy.”

There was no doubt in my mind, my wife was the best.

And forever and ever, until the end of time, she’s mine.

THE END
