“I've got my sights set on something a little higher than that,” I reply, grinning.

“Well, there you have it, America. Love at first sight exists, and not even senators are immune to it. Thanks for joining us. Next week, join me as I interview the elusive princess of Raultshire, Moira.”

“And we’re out,” a producer says from the other side of the bright lights on the stage. They finally turn off, and I blink several times. No matter how many times you are under them, they are bright as hell.

“Thanks for being so candid,” Nichelle says, her voice slightly different than her on-air one.

“Isn’t that the point of these interviews?”

“Yes, they are, but you’d be surprised how many people evade me or tell outright lies.”

“Boring,” Lauren says, and Nichelle laughs.

“Well, congratulations on your marriage. I’m sure we’ll meet again.”

“Looking forward to it,” I say, shaking her hand.

Hand in hand, we leave the studio and get into the chauffeured town car.

“Ready, wife?”

“Ready for what?” she asks.

“The rest of our lives,” I answer simply.

“I’m so ready.”

“It could get crazy.”

“Good thing we are crazy.”

Fuck, this girl is amazing, and she’s all mine.

Forever.

Five Years Later

“Harder, Mr. President,” I scream as my husband the new president of the United States slams into me from behind. My orgasm is causing my legs to shake as he pins me to the wall even harder. The exposed brick is rubbing against my chest in my tastefully low-cut ball gown, but I don’t care. When he is inside me nothing else matters, not even the location. Now that he’s officially the president and not just the president-elect we probably shouldn’t be doing this just anywhere anymore but sometimes we can’t help it.

I’ve lost track of how many balls we’ve been to tonight, but they are just as tedious as the campaign trail was. I think this is the last of them. I was sure that I’d get pregnant right away but that wasn’t the case. After five years, it’s finally happened. I haven’t told Alejandro yet. I just found out this morning. We’ve been so busy with the inauguration that I haven’t had a moment to sit down with him. I could tell he was getting antsy earlier, so I drug him into a dark corner. It’s not exactly private with six secret service agents surrounding us, but at least we don’t have to worry about reporters.

“Shh,” he chastises. He hates the idea of other people hearing me like this. I bite my lip to keep from screaming. He’s so fucking good at this. I love it. He’s my king and he can do whatever he wants to me, whenever he wants to.

After he fills me, he helps me right my panties and then straightens my dress. I adjust his bow tie and he kisses me hard.

“Better?” I ask, grateful that he appears less agitated now.

“You have no idea. Hearing you call me Mr. President is just about the hottest fucking thing I’ve ever heard.” He kisses me again,

“My, my Mr. President, you’ve got a potty mouth,” I tsk.

“Just with you, mi reina.”

“Better be.”

“Always.”

“Though I supposed I should call you daddy now.”

“Why on earth would you call me that?”

“I’m pregnant. Finally,” I say

“What?”

“I took the test this morning. Are you happy?”

“I am ecstatic, Lauren. This is amazing.” He picks me up and spins me around.

“Two new adventures at the same time. Are we ready for that?”

“You know we’re ready for anything as long we’re together,” he tells me.

“I know.”

We go back into the party, and even with Alejandro being the guest of honor, no one noticed we were gone. We danced the night away and then slept in our new digs for the first time.

Alejandro is the people’s president, and he plans to help all Americans and I thank God I get to by his side. His love and devotion are all I need in this world, and I’ve got that in spades.

Fourteen Years Later

Since I’ve all but retired from public life, I only give a commencement address every once in a while. Other than that, my time is my own. I’ve done my duty for my country and now I spend all my time traveling with my wife. Our daughter, Emily, is thirteen, and already is far smarter than I ever thought of being. For the past two years, she’s been in boarding school. She wanted to go to a STEM forward school in England and we reluctantly allowed it. She was bored in American schools and came to us armed with pamphlets and statistics. We didn’t really have a choice, to be honest. Once Emily makes her mind up there’s no stopping her. Once at Bingley Preparatory she tested into her final year of school. She’s already preparing for university. She has hopes of curing all manner of diseases. Lauren took it hard, thinking her one and only baby didn’t want to live with her anymore.
