Okay, it was ridiculous…but very true.

Cuddling back into him, I kissed his cheek before pressing my face into his neck. “But things have changed?”

I wasn’t sure I would’ve been able to put my finger on it before he’d spelled it out, but I could see his point. We’d slowly learned to trust and open up as we’d both moved on from our disastrous first date.

Before he could answer, I nodded against him and gave him another peck. “Yeah, they’ve changed.”

He chuckled, hugging me tight. “Are you sure, Spidey?”

Giggling, I nodded again, feeling shy for some reason. “Yes, Daddy.”

As his hand stroked up my back, he kissed the top of my head. “How do you know they’ve changed?”

He was probably expecting me to say something silly or flirty, but I knew exactly what I wanted to tell him. I’d just thought I would tell him tonight over drinks and a romantic dinner.

But honestly, we weren’t the drinks and dinner kind of couple.

We were the Daddy and boy kind of couple, so this was probably the perfect time.

Pulling back just enough to look him in the eyes, I studied him for a moment, loving the patient way he held me. He had a bad habit of making terrible jokes about people thinking he was a boring Dom, but all I saw when I looked at him was safety and tenderness and his burning desire to be the best Daddy I could ever want.

Leaning my forehead against his, I smiled. “I know things have changed because every time I look at you, I see the man I’ve fallen in love with.”

His sudden stillness was the only clue that his head was probably spinning.

But I knew my Daddy, so I just kept smiling and telling him how wonderful he was.

His brain would catch up in a second.

“You are a wonderful Daddy who’s gone out of his way to make me feel safe and special. You are an understanding boyfriend who’s patient and romantic. You are a sexy as fuck Dom who pounds me into the bed when I need to let everything go.”

That got a chuckle from him and he brushed his lips against mine.

Refusing to get sidetracked, I shook my head. “No. No romantic distractions.”

That got a laugh out of my sexy Daddy, but he behaved. “No distractions, baby.”

As the warmth of his love spread through me, I gave him a quick peck and found my place again. “I know I went about it the entirely wrong way.”

Oh yeah.

“But every time I ran into you at the coffee shop or just around the neighborhood, my heart stopped and I had to try to get your attention.”

He huffed, barely holding back a laugh. “Brat.”

“But I’m your brat.” I gave him another kiss. “And I’m the brat who loves you. Boyfriend. Daddy. Dom. Friend. Lover. Overall smart math dude who loves to help me with work. I love every part of you and every aspect of our relationship.”

Robyn’s smirk made me want to giggle. “Smart math dude, huh?”

“Oh yeah.” Nodding eagerly, I kissed his cheek. “You’re the best.”

He rolled his eyes. “You need another survey, don’t you?”

“Yes, Daddy.” Giving him wide innocent eyes, I kissed his cheek. “And do you know why you’re going to help me?”

“Because I’m a sucker?”

Giggling, I nodded. “Besides that.”

He huffed, rolling his eyes. “Hmm, why?”

We both knew why, but Daddy loved dragging his feet.

So I decided to be helpful. “Because you love me.”

Hugging me tight, he laughed softly and nodded. “I do. I was going to tell you tonight over our romantic dinner. The one you’ve kept very hush-hush.”

“I’m not telling you a single thing. No matter how sexy and dashing you’re going to look telling me how much you love me.” Nope, I had plans.

His manipulative grin said he was going to try anyway.

Hugging me tight, he shifted us and pinned me against the door. “Not a single thing? Even if I have a surprise for my cute Spidey?”

A surprise?

“What kind of surprise?” Not that I could be bribed. But I could let him try. There was no harm in that. “It’s my anniversary. It’s gotta be a good one.”

He barely held back a snicker, huffing. “I have the best surprises.”

He really did.

“Maybe…” Kissing his cheek, I looked sweet again. “I was very good today. And I even told you how much I love you, Daddy.”

“My little brat.” He smiled, kissing me softly. “I love you too. I knew you would be mine from the first time you scoffed and called me a peasant.”

Laughing, I kissed his cheek. “You were so cute. That was the day you were wearing those tight pants and you rolled your eyes.”

Like he’d done just then.

“You are a menace. But luckily for you, I like snarky troublemakers who need attention.” Shifting his arms, he leaned to one side and softly stroked over my head. “I love you. I love how smart you are and how good you are with people and how you are the sweetest little I’ve ever met.”
